Hey, what's up Internet ?
Beforehand, I made it. Finally I become officially the tailbone of society alias a student, which will possibly become a gamedesigner. A famous gamedesigner probably.
Honestly, I staked everything on one card, which was apparently the possibility to study. Speaking honestly I must admit, that there was an offering for me to become a webdesigner / illustrator, working for an agency instead, but the day of the job interview I decided to stay home and dye a bee blue. I named her Johanna.
However, I'm pretty sure that I convinced with my presentation, which was designed over three parts. Even though I messed it a bit up, I had a good feeling overall, since I stalked some of the docent and found out, that some of them liked Suicide Girls on facebook. Man, these guys must be cool.
The first part was a projected video, which involved me as kind of a clipping mask. This means, that a video, which introduced me again, played in the background, while another mask, on top of me, displayed other stuff like floating water or amplitudes.
Secondly I had a well-structured oral presentation of my portfolio, including some of my paintings, color-theories and all that stuff. I had the idea to throw in some old sketches and pictures I took to show that I made a lot of progress. Hell, that was awful for me.
Anyway, the last part involved my newest invention called "Mainstream-O-Matic 5000 Ultra XF". It's a box, with a display, which shows you, if somethings mainstream or new / individual. I proved the precision of my machine with inserting an folk music CD of the Flippers, which was obviously mainstream, which was exactly what I wanted to be too. However, I inserted my portfolio and the machine somehow displayed that my work is new and individual instead of mainstream. Embarrassed by this I took another try, causing a rare malfunction, which sent me and my assistant about 7 seconds back in time.
Reminded by the personal conversation they wanted with me, I cancelled the first part to avoid overstretching my presentation.
However, fortunately the docent was amused instead of disappointed and yeah - I made it.
Thinking about my coming holidays after finishing school, I came to the conclusion to dedicate the huge amount of spare time in practicing and refining my painting skills and rewriting my color theory. Since the theory of relativity, quantum physics and string theory isn't just wrong I want to pick up the possibilities to describe and understand light within all of them, including my insights of the former one. The new book will be called Triopticks instead of Postopicks.
Oh, and Guild Wars 2 approximately comes out in my holidays too. Even though I don't think I will waste my time with playing this game. I rather like to call it working, since I'm becoming a gamedesigner.
